MINUTES – GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING-ZOOM
Thursday, November 16, 2023
Lloyd Cox called the meeting to order at 7:03 pm via Zoom. The following officers were present: Lloyd Cox, President; Alice Jackson, VP Customer Service; Deborah Farmer, VP -P&; DC; Joanne Farmer, Secretary/Treasurer, June Marie Brandt, Editor in Chief. Committee Chairs: Deborah Holley - Constitution/By-Laws; Kenny Marshall - Sargent at Arms; Harold Wade – Legislative; and Darcy Driscoll – Benevolence. Andrew Martin and James Reedy were absent.
The agenda was read, and Alice Jackson motioned to accept the minutes as read with any addition corrections; Bill White 2nd; motion passed.
The minutes were read, and Wanda Burroughs motioned to accept the minutes as read with any necessary corrections; Yvette Merkison 2nd; motion passed.
The Treasury Report was read, and Wanda Burroughs motioned to accept the treasury report with any necessary corrections; Bill White 2nd, motion passed.

Old Business
Nomination Committee: William White -Chair, Yvette Merkison, and Darryl Beasley.
There are two positions to be voted on: President and Editor in Chief. William White stated he received only one nomination for President, Lloyd Cox, and one nomination for Editor in Chief, Junemarie Brandt. Lloyd Cox (President) and Junemarie Brandt (Editor in Chief) were unopposed. Lloyd stated Junemarie Brandt for the position of Editor in Chief by acclimation, and Lloyd Cox for the position of President by acclimation. Junemarie Brandt was reelected as Editor in Chief and Lloyd Cox was reelected as President by acclimation.
Lloyd thanked William White, chair, and his team and dismissed the Nomination Committee.
New Business
Joanne Farmer named the members that will be eligible to attend the Convention in 2024: Rose Allen, Tina Barrett, Earl Baylor, Darryl Beasley, Junemarie Brandt, Lloyd Cox, Darcy Driscoll, Deborah Farmer, Joanne Farmer, Deborah Holley, Alice Jackson, Kenneth Marshall, Andrew Martin, Yvette Merkison, James Parks, James Reedy, Harold Wade and William White.
The next Branch Meeting is on January 18, 2024, at 7:00 pm via Zoom.
Motion to adjourn was made at 7:35 pm by James E. Park Jr. and 2nd by Darryl Beasley; motion passed.
