MINUTES – GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
July 17, 2025
Lloyd Cox called the meeting to order at 7:08 pm at Merrifield P & D C in Merrifield, VA. The following officers were present: Lloyd Cox, President; Alice Jackson, VP of Customer Service; Deborah Farmer, VP of P&DC; Junemarie Brandt, Editor and Chief; and Joanne Farmer, Secretary/Treasurer. Committee Chairs: Harold Wade – Legislative; Deborah Holley – Constitution and Bylaws; Darcy Driscoll – Benevolence; James Reedy – Resolution, and Kenneth Marshall - Sergeant at Arms. The following Committee Chair was absent: Andrew Martin.
The agenda was read, and Alice Jackson motioned to accept the agenda as read with any additional corrections; Harold Wade 2nd; motion passed.
The minutes were read, and Alice Jackson motioned to accept the minutes as read with any necessary corrections; Deborah Holley 2nd; motion passed.
The Treasury Reports were read, and Alice Jackson motioned to accept the reports with any necessary corrections; Darryl Beasley 2nd; motion passed.

Old Business
Pioneer Tri State Convention was held on June 12 to 15, 2025, in Evansville IN. The overall comments about the convention were very enjoyable, well-organized, high-tech, and informative. The TSP speaker gave an outstanding presentation. Overall, the networking was outstanding.
Junemarie Brandt stated Pennsylvania State Convention was held on May 29 to 31, 2025, at the Holiday Inn Grantville. Tony Dallojacono and Jimmy Warden spoke as well as did training. And it was good networking.
Mr. Parks gave thanks appreciation for his lifetime achievement award from NAPS Branch 526 and a letter from his congressman at his celebration at the CAASC.
New Business
Lloyd stated we have 138 non-members in Northern Virginia, and we need to grow membership. He asked Andrew Martin and Deborah Farmer to come up with ideas to bring new members in.
Troy Griffin, the Area Vice President, Capitol Atlantic Area, gave an update on what is going on with Headquarters and in our area. He stated that a RIF is coming and letters will be issue on 23rd thru 25th. There were 5 NAPS members that was downgrade in the Capital Atlantic Area. (CAA). There was 32 employees downgrade, but only 5 members were NAPS. Also make sure if an employee call that they are a NAPS member. So far, no SDO are effective, but SMO are.
Troy stated he will be running for Eastern Regional and Lloyd stated he had decided to run for Area Vice President, CAA.
Deborah Farmer won the $50 raffle drawing for attending the meeting.
A motion to adjourn was made at 8:28 pm by Junemarie Brandt and 2nd by Harold Wade; motion passed.
